Create Flexible Joomla Forms Without Coding
Chilli Form Builder is a practical Joomla extension for creating contact forms, support tickets, enquiry forms, service requests and other types of online forms without writing HTML, CSS or PHP.
The package includes both the Chilli Form Builder component and the Chilli Form module. Forms can be displayed as dedicated Joomla pages through menu items or published in any available module position.
The intuitive administrator interface allows you to add fields, edit their labels and arrange them using drag-and-drop ordering. Every form can have its own recipient email address, language, success message, submit button text and automatic reply.
Multiple Field Types
Chilli Form Builder includes the most commonly used form fields:
- Text
- Phone
- Textarea
- Information text
- Dropdown
- Checkbox group
- Radio buttons
- Image upload
- Required consent
Information text blocks can be placed anywhere inside the form to provide instructions or additional information. The required consent field allows visitors to confirm that they agree to the processing of their submitted data.
The Email field is always required because it is also used for sending an automatic confirmation to the visitor.
Email Notifications and Automatic Replies
After a visitor submits the form, the selected recipient receives an email containing all submitted information. Field names in the email are identical to the labels configured by the administrator, making every message clear and easy to understand.
The visitor can automatically receive a confirmation email. Each form has its own automatic reply subject and message, with support for the following placeholders:
{name}– visitor’s name{form}– form title{subject}– submitted subject{site}– website name
After successful submission, the form is replaced by a customizable confirmation message.
Publish Forms Through a Menu or Module
A form can be published directly as a Joomla menu item. Simply select:
Chilli Form Builder → Chilli form
Then choose the required published form from the list.
The included Chilli Form module provides another option. It allows you to display a selected form in any template module position and assign it to specific menu pages.
This flexibility makes the extension suitable for contact pages, support sections, landing pages, sidebars and other website areas.
Manage Submitted Messages
All submitted forms are stored in the Chilli Form Builder component under Submissions.
The administrator can:
- See the submission date and form title
- View the sender’s name and email address
- Open the complete submitted message
- Access uploaded attachments
- Distinguish between New and Read messages
- Select and delete one or multiple submissions
A submission remains marked as New until an administrator opens it. After opening, its status automatically changes to Read.
Built-In Spam Protection
Chilli Form Builder includes several protection mechanisms without requiring visitors to solve a CAPTCHA:
- Hidden honeypot field
- Joomla security token
- Submission throttling
- Server-side required-field validation
- Email and phone validation
- Secure image type and size validation
Uploaded images are limited to JPG, PNG and WEBP formats with a maximum file size of 5 MB.
Multilingual Joomla Support
Forms can be assigned to a specific Joomla language or set to All languages. For multilingual websites, separate forms can be created for each language so that field labels, messages, consent text and automatic replies can be fully translated.
Chilli Form Builder provides a simple and flexible solution for collecting visitor messages, enquiries and requests while keeping all submissions organized inside Joomla.
