Chilli News Ticker is a responsive Joomla module for displaying scrolling article titles and HikaShop products. Place it inside a template position or keep it fixed at the top or bottom of the screen, with full control over colors, size, speed and content.
Description
Chilli News Ticker helps you keep important articles, news and products visible without taking up valuable page space. The module displays selected content in a smooth horizontal ticker that can be placed inside a standard Joomla module position or fixed to the top or bottom of the browser window.
It is ideal for latest news, announcements, important updates, promotions, new products and other content that visitors should notice immediately.
Joomla articles and HikaShop products
Choose which type of content you want to display:
- Joomla articles
- HikaShop products
- Joomla articles and HikaShop products together
For Joomla articles, you can select one or more categories. HikaShop products can be filtered using category IDs.
You can also define the maximum number of displayed items and arrange them by:
- Newest first
- Creation date
- Title
- Random order
Article publication dates can be displayed next to the titles, with a customizable date format.
Multilingual Joomla support
Chilli News Ticker works with Joomla multilingual websites and follows the currently active site language.
Select the associated article categories for all available languages. When a visitor changes the website language, Joomla automatically displays articles assigned to the active language.
You can use one shared module for all languages or create associated module copies when each language requires different label text, colors or settings.
Custom ticker label
The fixed section at the beginning of the ticker can contain any text you choose, such as:
- Latest News
- Breaking News
- New Products
- Updates
- Announcements
You can also add an optional link to the label, allowing visitors to open a selected page, category or product listing.
Complete appearance control
Customize the ticker to match the design of your website without writing custom CSS.

The fixed ticker can extend across the complete browser width. A configurable Z-index helps keep it above other website elements.
Easy to install and configure
No knowledge of HTML, CSS or PHP is required. Install the module through the Joomla Extension Manager, create a new Chilli News Ticker module, choose the content and appearance, assign it to the required pages and publish it.
