Description
Display important messages in a responsive popup
Chilli Notice Popup is a flexible Joomla 6 module designed for displaying announcements, promotions, special offers and other important messages in a modal popup window.
The popup appears above the website content while a customizable overlay and blur effect keep the visitor’s attention focused on the message.
All options are configured through the standard Joomla administrator interface, without writing HTML, CSS or PHP code.
Create formatted popup content
Use the integrated Joomla editor to create and format the popup content. You can add headings, paragraphs, lists, links and other supported formatting elements.
The module also allows you to select an image from Joomla Media Manager and enter alternative text for better accessibility.
Customize the popup appearance
Adjust the popup to match your website design. Available appearance settings include:
- Popup width
- Fixed or automatic height
- Popup background color
- Border color and thickness
- Border radius
- Inner spacing
- Overlay color
- Overlay opacity
- Background blur
The popup automatically adapts to smaller screens and supports internal scrolling when the content is taller than the available screen space.
Add a customizable action button
Chilli Notice Popup includes an optional call-to-action button that can direct visitors to another page, product, booking form or external website.
Button settings include:
- Show or hide the button
- Custom button text
- Internal or external URL
- Open in the same or a new window
- Button background color
- Button text color
- Separate hover colors
- Font size
- Border radius
- Left, center or right alignment
The button is displayed only when it is enabled and both the button text and URL are entered.
Control how visitors close the popup
You can display the × close icon in the top-right corner of the popup or disable it when the message must remain visible.
An additional option allows visitors to close the popup by clicking the overlay outside the popup window.
When the close option is disabled, the visitor cannot access the website content behind the popup. This is useful for mandatory notices, maintenance announcements or messages that require immediate attention.
Set how often the popup appears
Choose the maximum number of times the popup is displayed to each visitor. Enter 0 to show it on every eligible page opening.
The display counter can work in two modes:
- Until the current browser session ends
- Remember the number of displays in the visitor’s browser
This prevents promotional messages from appearing too often while allowing important notices to remain visible when required.
Display the popup on selected pages
Chilli Notice Popup supports the standard Joomla Menu Assignment system. You can display it:
- On all website pages
- Only on selected menu items
- On all pages except selected menu items
- On no pages until you are ready to publish it
This makes it possible to create different popup messages for specific landing pages, products, services or language versions of the website.
Responsive and easy to use
The module works on desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices. Popup dimensions automatically adjust to the available screen size, while oversized content remains accessible through internal scrolling.
Simply install the module, enter your content, customize the appearance, choose the desired pages and publish it in a valid template position.
No coding knowledge is required.
